Atlantic Park, Bootle

Brief Details:

This project related to the dismantling of the former Lucas Systems factory at Altantic Park, Bootle, which occupied a shared site (with common services) with the Rolls Royce Gas Turbine production facility.

The works comprised:
  • Asbestos removal, including removal of 4 acres of asbestos insulating board (AIB) linings to the underside of the factory roof, and decontamination of live underground services ducts.
  • Survey and isolation / diversion of live services in and around our work area, including HV and LV electrical feeds, perimeter fire water mains, gas main and fibre optic data cabling.
  • Demolition of 4 acre steel framed factory to ground level.
  • Excavation and removal of ground floor slabs and foundations to the building, together with those of an adjacent factory previously destroyed by fire.
  • On site recycling by crushing / screening of approxuimately 20,000 tonnes of concrete and brick arising from the works and stockpiling this material for re-use in follow-on construction works.
