Former House of Fraser Department Store, Bristol
This project was located in a prominent and very congested area of Bristol City Centre. It comprised strip out and internal demolition / enabling works to a nine storey former House of Fraser department store.
Main Points:
This was a fast track project, completed in 14 weeks using 24 hour working. It entailed:
- Work on a very congested city centre site with severe restrictions on access and debris removal.
- Extensive planning for services isolation, identification, protection and alteration to retain parts
of the HV / LV electrical systems, substation, fire fighting and pumped drainage systems, as well as
testing retained systems before and after the works.
- Stripping back / removal of all fixtures, fittings, finishes, partitions etc to bare structure,
whilst leaving retained services threaded through the works intact and protected.
- Internal demolitions as necessary to allow store refurbishment / alteration.
Amongst others, we have also recently completed similar major enabling works / strip out contracts at:
- Wallis / Topshop, Edinburgh
- Littlewoods, Liverpool and Aberdeen
- Marks and Spencer, Derby
- British Home Stores, Bournemouth and Folkestone
