Health & Safety
Demolition can be dangerous and it is only with close attention
to detail that consistently good health and safety performance can be maintained.
For this reason, Health and Safety is at the heart of everything we do.
At Sloyan Doyle Demolition we have set up systems to the BS OHSAS 18001 standard
to constantly assess, review, monitor and improve our health and safety performance.
We:
- ensure that our workforce is fully trained and qualified.
- provide and maintain a comprehensive fleet of modern specialist
plant and equipment.
- keep up to date on the latest technical developments to
help us work more safely and efficiently.
- undertake comprehensive site and project planning to ensure
that works are carried out safely, efficiently and with an
absolute minimum of disruption to the client and to the local
neighbourhood.
- carry out inspections and project planning reviews throughout
the progress of each contract to ensure that health and safety
performance is maintained and that changing circumstances
on site are fully addressed.
- carry out completion reviews of contract performance to
ensure that lessons learned are carried forward and overall
performance is continually improved.
To ensure that we comply with best practice at all times (and in addition to having our own internal H&S personnel), we employ independent Health and Safety consultants to carry out frequent, unannounced H&S inspections of our sites and also to audit our Health and Safety systems on a regular basis.
We hold Construction Health and Safety (CHAS) accreditation and we are active members of the following bodies promoting Health and Safety best practice:
- National Federation of Demolition Contractors.
- National Demolition Training Group (NDTG)
- Construction Industry Training Board / Construction
Skills
- British Safety Council
- Northwest Construction safety Group
- Merseyside and Cheshire Construction Safety Group.
